Job Description:

Senior Underwriters provide all clients, internal and external, with the best service in the industry. Our team possesses and constantly demonstrates a positive attitude, excellent communication, superior program knowledge and knowledge of company policies and procedures. Senior Underwriters must be fluent in underwriting fundamentals including property evaluation, and are required to have a thorough knowledge of all products and guidelines.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to manage multiple tasks while continuing to achieve strong rapport with Brokers
• Knowledge of mortgage agency products
• Understand the factors and red flags indicating likelihood of borrower, appraiser or lender misrepresentation
• Possess skills for determining the creditworthiness of the loan applicant and accuracy of appraisal used to estimate value of the property
• Ability to apply knowledge and judgment to detailed loan analysis in order to offer effective underwriting analysis to customers for their borrowers
• Assist in performing pre-closing Quality Control audits prior to closing on all loans as volume dictates
• Meet United Wholesale goals and objectives
• Assist Brokers with AUS
• Return all correspondence in a timely manner
• Maintain consistent turn times of 48 hours for approvals
• Serve as back-up for Underwriter II’s to keep conditions up to date
• Professionally represent United Wholesale Mortgage
• Work in a team environment and assist in the development of Underwriter II’s
• Attend conventions and meetings as required

Experience:

• 2 years Underwriting experience; 5 years experience within the mortgage industry
