UWM Offering Sharpened Pricing on Government Loans

UWM offering three discounted rates, paying 1.5-2.5 points on FHA Streamline and VA IRRRLs

Pontiac, December 13, 2023 – United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), the #1 overall mortgage lender in America, announced today it will offer three new exclusive discounted rates, including 5.749 percent paying 1.5 points for FHA Streamlines and VA IRRRLs (Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loan).

Available today until January 31, 2024, brokers now have access to three new exclusive rates – 5.749 paying 1.5 points, 5.999 paying 2 points and 6.249 paying 2.5 points for FHA and VA refinances. This initiative aims to help independent mortgage brokers provide homeowners with affordable refinancing options in today’s market, allowing them to take advantage of a lower interest rate and save on their monthly mortgage payments.

The VA IRRRL is exclusively available to eligible veterans and lets them refinance their existing VA loan to a lower interest rate without the need for an appraisal or income verification. UWM's FHA Streamline program, on the other hand, is designed for homeowners with FHA loans, offering a simplified refinance process with reduced documentation requirements.

“We’re giving brokers who work with UWM the opportunity to create their own refinance boom for their FHA and VA borrowers,” said Mat Ishbia, president and CEO at UWM. “No other lender can match this offering, and with VA IRRRL and FHA Streamline loans being so quick and easy to close, this the perfect opportunity to help borrowers lower their monthly payment, while also showcasing the elite service an independent mortgage broker can provide through their partnership with UWM.”

This comes after UWM recently announced it would cover the appraisal cost on all conventional and government home loans when an independent mortgage broker utilizes its 1-0 Temporary Rate Buydown product.
