In one of my first forays in the mortgage business, I worked for a subprime lender whose modus operandi was to help clients with poor credit and make large amounts of money off of their misfortune.

Many years ago, an English teacher of mine said, “Proofreading counts!” I agree, not only does proofreading count, it will save you the stigma of reputation damage.

In the last week, I’ve written some big checks to two different colleges and bought way too much new dorm furniture for the kids. My daughter is currently color coordinating her dorm room with a new roommate via Skype. Call me old, but, I was not aware that people did that now. When I went to college my parents gave me a hug and took my house keys (as a parent, I now get the hint). The closest thing that my roommate and I got to color coordinating our dorm room was matching Farrah Fawcett posters and that was an amazing coincidence. Thirty years later, I still love that poster!
